BEARING FRUIT Prt 3
THEME SCRIPTURE: John 15:1
John 15:1
I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit (John 15:1 – 15:2 ESV)
Dear Fellow Saints,
I am so thrilled because of the revelation God has been giving to us especially in showing us our nearness to Him as the trinity. This is un- believable to a religious mind. Jesus and the Father are one, The Spirit of Truth (Jesus prayed to The Father about Him) is one with them. We the branches, emanate from them, making us one with them. Hence, the fruit we bear is of them and not of us. This is why we shall be known by the fruit we bear, whether it is “of them (The Trinity)” or not.
In our bulletin last week, we saw how Jesus went everywhere doing good.
Acts. 10:38. The things He did are expected of us and “greater ones.” We saw that there are some behavioral characteristics that formed the foundation of Jesus’ good deeds. Such are, but not limited to:, love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: These qualities are found through out Jesus’ ministry while on earth. These same qualities are outlined for us, as the fruit of the Spirit. Remember Him?
John 14:15.
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16. And I will (after you keep my commandment…paraphrase) pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide (dwell, stay, reside) with you for ever; 17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: (because they walk by sight and not by faith)…but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Please note, He is not only with us, but IN us. It’s very important to know that.
Galatians 5:22-23 reveals the foundational fruit that propels us to bear the kind of fruit that Jesus bore. He went about doing good, and healing all manner of sicknesses, casting out Devils……and so forth. We are to do the same. But before we do,
Galatians 5:22-23 says:
22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
- Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
The fruit of the Spirit has nine components which make the “one”. We will study these components individually so that we don’t fall short of any of them. Let us all purpose to bear fruit that’s expected of us and as we do, the vine dresser prunes us in order to produce even more. He is obviously very interested in fruit production. Till next Sunday in the SPREADING THE LIGHT, SHALOM.
