BEARING FRUIT Prt 1.

THEME SCRIPTURE: John 15:1-8 and John 14:16&17

Dear Saints,

While meditating on the word in regard to our last series “created for good works”, it has become apparent to me that that production of good works will not happen automatically. It will not happen by virtue of being God’s children, but by knowing “what you are spiritually made of”.

This week, we begin a new series “bearing fruit” which in most cases is never mentioned from the pulpit because of its reprimanding nature. Nevertheless, the truth behind the demand of bearing fruit is astounding (capable of overwhelming with amazement; stunningly surprising). A dry branch is cut off while a productive one is purged (Pruned). Since The Bible is true, and God inspired, then it should be believed, and acted on to the letter. Lest we do the good works, and un-be known to us we have been cut off. How can we know we have, or have not been cut off? We will find out from our theme scripture, John 15:1-8. and chapter 14:16,17.

John 15:1-8 and John 14:16, 17.

I want to begin with the introduction of the Holy Spirit, because He has a lot to do with our study of “bearing of fruit”.

John 14:16&17

“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever– the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

Jesus prayed to the Father on our behalf that He would give us the helper… the spirit… He referred to Him as “the Spirit of Truth”.

So with Him being the “Spirit of truth” from The Father, we will be able to know what kind of fruit our Father is looking for. The fruit we bear is of the Spirit and therefore not our own.

John 15:1-2

I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.  Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit (John 15:1 – 15:2 ESV)

….”Every branch in me”, evidently the branch is “IN HIM” among other branches. The branch that bears no fruit….He (The vine dresser/husbandman) takes away. In other words, it is removed from the vine (loses connection) and therefore it lacks life supply. The branch then dies because it has no life supplied to it.

Jesus has declared that you are His branch. There are two types of branches, One that doesn’t bear fruit, and one that does bear fruit. Which one of these two are you? Remember this is not just a story, it’s a fact. You MUST be one of the two. As believers, we must bear fruit. I know this is a brutal truth but nevertheless the truth. Don’t miss Spreading the Light bulletin next week, it’s gonna be powerful. Till then, stay blessed.

I am helping our church to reach ONE A WEEK, are you? Watch and tell your friends about our “Faith Life” program on Kingdom TV, every Sunday @ 6 pm and Monday @ 3 pm. We love you.
