TAPPING INTO THE BLESSING
John 20:29 (KJV)
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
John 20:29 (Amp).
Jesus said to him, Because you have seen Me, Thomas, do you now believe (trust, have faith)? Blessed and happy and to be envied are those who have never seen Me and yet have believed and adhered to and trusted and relied on Me.
Dear Saints,
I trust that you had a lovely week. We continue with our series on the subject of BELIEVE (belief). There was a mistake in our last bulletin on when Jesus returned to talk to Thomas, it was after eight days and not seven. By the way, there is a lesson to learn from Thomas’ story on the importance of attending God’s assembly, Church gathering at all times. When Jesus entered the room where the disciples were meeting, Thomas was not there. As a result, he missed everything. Although Jesus came back just for Thomas (as it appears), He gave Him a sharp rebuke which was not necessary had he (Thomas) been in the first meeting. I pray that we all learn from this failure.
We want to talk about tapping into the blessings. This is a comprehensive word in that everything is hidden in the word “blessing”. God used that word first during creation when He said in,
Genesis 1:22
And God blessed them, saying, (Blessings come by saying, received by believing) Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
The word blessed appears 289 times in the Bible. I think it is important.
The blessing comes without curses at all. It is all for the good of the blessed. There is a category of people that are blessed in the Bible. Those are the ones according to Jesus, BELIEVE without seeing. The Amplified Bible says:
John 20:29 (Amp).
Jesus said to him, because you have seen Me, Thomas, do you now believe (trust, have faith)? Blessed and happy and to be envied are those who have never seen Me and yet have believed and adhered to and trusted and relied on Me.
Oh, these words are powerful. They remind me of when Isaac became so blessed until the Philistines envied him. That’s how you are supposed to be blessed…..until people…… Check out next week in your SPREADING THE LIGHT BULLETIN.
