Dearest brothers and sisters,
In last week’s bulletin, I ended by telling you that you have passed the stage of simply believing that God is with you, to the higher truth of Christ in you. In the Old Testament, God was with them. In the New Testament, God is in us. Not only is the Bible progressive revelation, but there are some truths that babies can handle and some higher truths that only the spiritually mature can handle.
You will recall the apostle Paul told the Corinthian church in 1 Cor. 3:1-2 that he could not speak to them as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. He said: “I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able.” If you’re still a spiritual baby, you choke at some truths. You may be able to handle some truths such as that God has traced you…singing “ameniona”…that He has seen you and knows your address and He is with you…but you still don’t know how to appropriate the fact that He is in you.
But when you begin to grow, you begin to realize and be conscious of the fact that He is in you and that He brought a lot with Him. Your discovery of Christ in you is your entrance of a life of glory. For one, as we have learned before, you learn how to appropriate His life in you.
Rom 8:10-11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you
You learn to apply the life the Spirit gives to your mortal body. When attacked physically, you refuse to harbor that pain in your body. You say, “I’ve got the life of God in me. The Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is giving life to my body right now. My body is being vitalized right now. I refuse to harbor disease in my body.” Before long, that pain is gone. Praise God. And that’s just one area.
You have so much in you! You don’t have to be a victim of circumstances. You don’t have to be a victim of the system. God’s ability has become your ability. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. (Phil. 4:13) The Bible says that our sufficiency of God. (2 Cor. 3:5) I am sufficient in His sufficiency. The Greek word for sufficient in that verse means ability. Christ in us makes us completely adequate for any situation that may occur. The Bible tells us that He has made us able ministers of the New Testament. (2 Cor. 3:6.) Christ in you is all the ability you need. Stir up the gift of God in you brethren, for you are gifted and anointed to do all that He calls you to do. God’s ability has become your ability. Bible says that He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. (1Cor. 6:17) You are joined to the One with all the ability.
I don’t rely on my mental or physical capacity. I trust the power of God at work in me. I trust the greater One in me. The Bible shows us that we are of God.
1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. KJV
Those words that ‘you are of God’ mean you hail from God. You are the God kind. The greater One lives in you; greater than all powers, rulers and principalities; greater than all challenges. What a life He has given us to live! The triumphant life in Christ. (2 Cor. 2:14).
This has to become your mindset. Your disposition in every situation. Take ownership of this and walk in it. You are unconquerable. This is what it means to be more than a conqueror in HIm. (Rom. 8:37.) Christ in you; gives you great ability. Go and win and keep winning.
