Jeremiah 1:5
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Dear Saints,
Greetings in Jesus’ Name. I hope this letter finds you excited as you get to discover your purpose. The word purpose means: the reason something is done, or something is made, or reason for its existence. Given that definition, we must ask ourselves three questions:
- Why was I made?
- What do I exist for?
- What do l do, or are doing, that gives reason for my existence.
To discover the answers to these questions accurately, we must give a serious consideration of our creator or maker. Last week we talked about the possible reasons why God made man. We said that maybe God had a problem that He wanted to solve.
And He did have one. He wanted man in His image, and likeness to represent Him on earth, He wanted man to be on earth as God is in heaven. Man failed God. Man was and still is very important to God. Of all things He created, nothing was in His image and likeness except man. He even restored dominion to us through prayer. That’s why He asked us to pray so that He can work legally on earth (which was given away) through prayer.
Matthew 6:10
“…………. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
Someone may ask, was His will on earth lost? Yes, it was lost when Adam sinned, now we have to ask for “His will to be done on earth,” but this was not so from the beginning. God wanted man to have heaven on earth. But man lost the kingdom, the privileges, the fellowship with God, indeed, he lost everything including his dominion. The initial purpose of man was to take care of God’s business on earth, while God took care of things in heaven. Your purpose must be connected or related to God’s initial plans.
