Jeremiah 1:5
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Dear Saints,
Over the past several weeks we have been talking about what l consider in my opinion is the greatest subject. Living without purpose is a wasted life, a life that is not beneficial to self and to humanity at large. We all have something to contribute to our society. Many people die with their gifts, graces, and abilities that have never been exploited. God has something for each of us, let’s discover what it is and our lives will be fulfilled. Remember, God knows the end from the beginning.
God gave man possessions so that he lacked nothing. Think about it, man’s first job appointment was to till the land, and work along with God. The enemy changed the purpose of the “job” to “making a living”, man was possessed by the “job,” that he has no time for the one who gave it. God gave man land to possess it, but instead, “land possessed man,“ God told Adam and Eve to have dominion over things. Man became dominated by the things that God gave him.
A story is told by Jesus about a man who prepared dinner for his special guests;
Luke 14:16-20
Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
Please note, the invitation was for their greater benefit. To enjoy supper that has already been prepared, to have fellowship with one another, (notice the individualism and selfishness in this bunch) and most importantly, to be close to the master; a strategic position to never lack. They all had excuses…. doesn’t that sound familiar? They did not understand…
