EXPRESS HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS IN YOU
Dear brethren,
2 Cor. 5:21
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” NKJV
Righteousness is a gift from God. You don’t qualify for it. When you were born again, you were born righteous with the nature of God, the nature of righteousness. Some religious people teach that if a man does the right things and does good works, God will qualify him to be a righteous person. But that’s not true. No one can live righteously until He’s first made righteous by God. God’s righteousness in your spirit is what gives you the ability to live right.
What God does first is to make you righteous before He expects you to live right.
The Bible says in Romans 4:25 that Jesus Christ died on account of our offences, and was raised back to life for our justification. Justification means to declare righteous. When a man receives Christ, he receives a new life, and is as one who has never existed before; a new creation in Christ.
This new life is NOT characterized by sin. This new life is superior to sin, the devil, death and hell. This new life is the life of righteousness; so now you can live a righteous life. The reason men sin is because they’re sinners by nature. When you were born again, that old nature was supplanted by God’s nature of righteousness. Because you’re born again, sin no longer has dominion over you; it becomes natural for you to live right and fulfill the will of the Father because His righteousness is in you.
Look at this other Scripture:
1 Cor. 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: KJV
Righteousness is the expression of the will and nature of the Father. Today, not only has God made us His righteous ones, we give vent to His righteousness; we unveil and express His righteousness. The people of the world are to look at you, and know what rightness is. We bear fruits of righteousness (Phil 1:11) because we’re trees of “trees of righteousness.” (Isaiah 61:3).
When a righteous child of God sins, his own heart condemns him; reminding him that what he has done is far beneath what He is. He loses his confidence because he has acted contrary to his real nature of righteousness. All he needs is to act on his righteous nature and confess that sin to get rid of it. (1John1:9). Brethren, let righteousness reign through you; give expression to God’s best (His nature) in you. Decide that the life of Christ will be fully expressed through you. Young person, decide you will not live in sexual sin by having relations with somebody you’re not married to. Each person, decide you are the expression of the righteous love nature of God and you are not going to live in strife, which is far inferior to your superior nature of righteousness. Remind your flesh that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and you will not yield to sin.
Meditate on this Scripture and enjoy your right standing with the Father.
Rom 6:12-14 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you. NKJV
Amen and amen.
