Hab. 2:2-3 Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, It will not tarry. NKJV
We’re continuing to cheer lead you to achieve your dreams and goals. It is so important that you go for the dreams God has placed in your heart. The Word of God shows us clearly that we should have a vision, and that we should write it down, that we should make it plain or visible or keep it before our eyes.
What are you looking at on a daily basis? If you do nothing, you can expect nothing. However, if you revisit your goals every day by a vision board of them, then you will end up realizing them.
What is a vision board? A vision board is a picture of your dream life. It is a great source of inspiration to visualize the future destination of your life, of your business, of your family etc.
Also known as a goal board or dream board, it is a visual tool that can help you define, understand and focus on your goals. It also helps you to set your priorities and check your progress.
Because of their efficacy, many people are using vision boards to evaluate and achieve their goals. Even famous celebrities like Oprah, Katy Perry and Wil Smith credit dream boarding for their success.
By putting images, objects or words on your board, you’re immersing yourself in your goals in a multi-sensory and experiential way. You’re empowered to work towards them because they feel more real and possible. A dream board refines your vision, defines what you want and gives you clarity enabling you to stay on track and focus on things that matter most to you. Simply looking at your board, you’ll be reminded of the desired future you’re working to achieve. It can also remind you of your progress and your small accomplishments.
How do you make an effective dream board?
- Begin with your vision. Identify the things you want to achieve. What are your financial goals? What are you business goals? Do you want to increase your profit? Do you want to grow spiritually? Once you’ve identified your goals, list them down and list the specific course you will take to achieve them.
- Assemble your dream board. Look at your list of vision and action plans and search for pictures or symbols that suit your list. You can use old magazines or newspapers. You can print your favorite quote or Bible verse. Paste or pin the images on your illustration board. You can also pin a picture of a person you look up to. Look for unique ways to design and arrange your dream board. There’s no specific rule in designing your board, so play around and unleash your artistic side.
- (This is a good project for cell groups to practice together.) Encourage each other to go for your individual dreams or use your creativity to make a vision board of how you are going to reach your area with the gospel and grow your cell group.
In conclusion, vision boards speak beyond the pictures and words. They spell out the message of the drive, passion and motivation to thrive and flourish your life or business. This way, this year will be different for you than last year because you’ve added clarity and inspiration to your vision. Remember: your life moves towards the dominating picture you keep before your eyes.
