MORE GRACE TO THE HUMBLE
James 4:6 6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. KJV
2 Peter 3:18 18 But grow in grace , and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. KJV
Acts 4:33 33 And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. NKJV
2 Peter 1:2 2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, NKJV
As you can see from these verses, grace is supposed to be on the increase in our lives. God is ready to give more grace, we’re supposed to grow in grace, we can have multiplied grace until we operate in great grace.
The grace of God in our lives can literally be multiplied to us. You can have double or triple or quadruple the grace you have. What can you do with more grace? With more grace you can …..
As soon as God says God resists the proud but gives more grace to the humble, He says submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. To be humble, you must choose to submit your will to the will of another – particularly the will of God. Once you’re submitted to God, the chain of authority is enacted in your life and as a result, you’re in a position for your authority to work. You then must resist every suggestion of the devil especially when he tries to bring pride into your life. When pride raises its ugly head, that’s a good time to resist the devil’s thoughts out of your mind. This will keep you in that humble place where God gives you more grace.
James 4:10 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. NKJV God wants to lift up each and every believer in the body of Christ. The path of the righteous is supposed to be as the shining sun that grows brighter and brighter – to its full brightness at noon. However, He doesn’t want you to life yourself up. He wants to be the One who lifts you up. The way up with God is down.
Prov 15:33 33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility. NKJV
Prov 18:12 12 Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty, And before honor is humility. NKJV
1 Peter 5:5-7 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, NKJV
Prov 29:23 23 A man’s pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor. NKJV
“If you’re found in the position of humility, grace will find you!” Through humility, you will find grace to take you places you’ve never been. Brethren, humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up.
