Ephesians 5:3
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Dearly Beloved,
Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus. Today we want to start a series on the subject you all like but never dare to discuss, or talk about it. Truth be told, it may hurt, nevertheless it heals quickly. We are talking about sex, with the title: MUST ONE BE MARRIED TO HAVE SEX? I will address this subject strictly to those individuals referred to in the above scripture, as “….becometh Saints”, or those who would like to. (Ephesians 5:3b). This statement means, “those who are saints”. From our theme scripture above, sex is only for those who are married.
If one is not married, if they have sex, it’s called fornication and it’s named among other biblically un-acceptable behavior known as “uncleanness (dirty) and covetousness. We are admonished that these things should not be named among believers, much less practiced. Sex before marriage has become so commonplace in our society, even to the point of being expected, that many professing Christians don’t even consider it to be a sin. This is wrong. Our culture can change but it can never change God’s Word. The Bible tells us that sex outside of marriage is immoral.
Matthew 15:19
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Any person who has become a born-again Christian by putting his or her faith and trust in Christ no longer belongs to himself.
1 Corinthians 6:18-19
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
