Serving man, to serve God

Matthew 25:34-40
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Dear Saints,
I have come across so many people that have a great zeal to serve God. This is absolutely commendable. However,there is no way we can serve God without serving people.It is clear from the above scripture that there is no other way of serving God besides serving people. Jesus Said,
“…….Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Many people prefer to serve God apart from people. It doesn’t work that way.It is interesting that Jesus is equating man to God. In others words, if you want to serve God, the man/woman next to you in your work place, in your business, in your neighborhood, is the “god” you will serve. What you do to, or for that man or woman, you do it to the Lord. If we want to serve God, there is no other way but to serve man. Child of God, you better come to grips with this because its not the easiest thing to do.
Serving people is our priority. We should keep that in front of us all the time if we desire to serve God. Whatever you do to someone, you do unto the Lord. This is an awakening because if we do evil to men, we do it equally to God. Most of us would never willingly want to do that. It is worth noting therefore, if you do good, you do it to the Lord according to our theme scripture, similarly if you do evil you do it to the Lord. Let us be careful to serve God through people that He brings across our path and in our lives. Let’s learn to serve people tirelessly because as we do, we are serving God. Blessings to you all.
