PRAISE AND WORSHIP
There is Victory in Praise
Luke 19:40
And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
Acts 16:25
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
Beloved,
Peace, love, and joy be to you. Ones again am so thrilled to address in depth, the subject of praise and worship. Last week we talked about King Jehoshaphat’s victory over three nations that were against him. That war was simply won by Israelites as they did some seemingly ridiculous things, in taking their musical instruments to the battlefield, and singing praises God. Needless to say, they did not even have to fight. The Lord fought their battle. All they had to do was sing praises to Him, as the enemies turned against each other. Please read 2 Chronicles 20.
There is a place you can go in the spirit where nothing else can get you there except praise. Praise softens and prepares the hardened, indifferent, or a cynical heart to receive from God what one could not otherwise receive. Praise is indeed the key to God’s supernatural. Praise is the proof beyond any reasonable doubt that God will come through for you. It’s a statement that you will not be shaken, you will not be afraid, or dismayed, you will give thanks to God in every situation, for His mercy endures forever.
Another example of what praise can do for you is in the book of
Acts 16:25-26
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
Paul and Silas were arrested and thoroughly beaten. With their hands and feet in stokes, their backs bleeding the religious leaders put them in prison and secured the doors such that no one could get out. But instead of murmuring and complaining, Paul and Silas sang praises to God…..can you imagine? What happened then?
