PRAY AND STAND UP STRONG FOR THE GOSPEL
1 Tim 2:1-7 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, 7 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle — I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying — a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. NKJV
According to this opening Scripture, the reason for a peaceful calm nation is so God’s desire, for all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth, may be realized.
If each of us really believes that there is ONLY one God and one Mediator between God and men …Christ Jesus, then we like the apostle Paul would realize the reason for our existence in a peaceful nation is to lead people to Him so they can be saved. The importance of us as the body of Christ,to stand in our place of calling, and fulfill our purpose in these last of the last days cannot be overemphasized nor accomplished without peace.
According to Romans 13:1, God has power over every nation and sets in authority anyone that He chooses. When He tells you to pray for your country, it’s because He’s given you the authority to decree what He desires and it shall be legally established here. God fulfills His will in this earth through His Church for when Jesus our Lord ascended to heaven, He delegated His authority to the Church, which is His body.
When you fulfill what’s in your mind, you use your body. Your head doesn’t go do it by itself. In the same manner, when Christ fulfills His will on the earth in any nation, He uses His body, the Church. And He sent us to go make disciples of all ethnic groups.
As the Church of Jesus Christ, we are the custodian of the gospel. It’s therefore our divine responsibility to publish it in our nation that men may be saved and come to the knowledge of the Truth.
The apostle Paul in
Acts 13:38-39 said: “Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; 39 and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.” NKJV
Since Jesus is the only way, we must stand up strong for the gospel…the only way for men to be saved. They have no hope outside of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
No wonder David said: “Send us around the world with the news of your saving power.” (Psalm 67:2 TLB) That’s a great prayer to pray. No Christian is left out of the instruction to preach the gospel. It should be our passion.
Brethren, fuel your passion for sharing the gospel and intercede for the lost in this nation.
