PROTECTION
I am your exceeding great reward
Genesis 15:1
After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
Dear Beloved,
Greetings. My prayer for all of us is that God may open our inner eyes to see what it really means to be His child. From our theme scripture above, we see three great statements that need consideration because their impact is great. They are: “fear not, I am your shield, your exceeding great reward.”
We have briefly covered the first two in the previous bulletins. We said last week that as far as God is concerned, “It’s all about you.” He has laid everything down to care for you. I know you may not feel like it, but it is so. It has nothing to do with your feelings, it has to do with your knowing.
When you know (not guess) God’s love for you then you will not have doubts of His Word. Thus, you will believe what He says and act like it. Jesus said,
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” -John 8:32
When you know the truth you will not fear. Again, child of God, remember, fear is to the devil what faith is to God.
In chapter 14, Abram had conquered many kings and there are possibilities that they would gang up and come against him. The word of the Lord came and said,
“I am your shield.” And not only am I your shield, I am your exceeding great reward. Whatever you need, am your reward.
A reward is given to one for service, effort, or achievement…. our granddaughter Hope Kariuki, deserves a reward for her effort and achievement in her exams. If you believe His Word, God Himself becomes your reward for believing, and trusting Him.
