Dear brothers and sisters,
Remember the old chorus:
God you’re so good x3
You’re so good to me.
This should be your testimony about God. Your testimony is important. It tells of your experiences with the grace of a good God.
How your testimonies turn out depends largely on what you’re looking for in God. The Scripture we read last time exhorts us to find out for ourselves how good God is. (Ps. 34:1) Taste and see. The Bible also says: Seek and you shall find. (Ps 105:4, Luke 11:9)
What are you seeking for in God? When you come to seek Him, are you sincerely seeking for good out of Him or do you think there is a dark side in Him?
Ps 119:68 we read that God is good and the Source of goodness. How can we find that out? How do you find out if the “choma” is good? By washing your hands, reaching out and tasting it for yourself. You can’t prove that by somebody else’s experiences.
But when you look for God, when you reach out to “taste” His goodness for yourself, you’ll find lots of good. When you seek His glory, you’ll find good. How do you find God when you read your Bible? When you find good things happening, you’ve found Him.
Remember when Moses prayed, “Please show me your glory”, what did God say?
Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion (Exodus 33:19 NKJV)
Wow, I believe Moses tasted the goodness of the Lord for himself and he was a changed man. He was a marked man. The goodness of the Lord will change your outlook on everything. It will enable you to see the hand of God in so many things. But, what are you looking for? Some people study the Bible to look for the anti-Christ. What about you?
I heard about a man whose youth was so renewed everything about his body was preserved even in his old age. He had all his teeth, perfect eye-sight, no grey hair and youthful countenance in his 90’s. He said he made a covenant with God to always see good, speak good and love all. Even when a criminal who used to attack and slash people was killed in his town, all he could say was: “he sure had good looking eyes.” He refused to be critical.
Brethren, our brains, our Bodies are wired for good, for love and for peace. If you want to see good days and have a good life, think good, speak good, speak truth, always seek peace and pursue it. Amen.
