But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.
Ephesians 5:18
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Dear Saints,
The study of God’s presence in us is so awesome.
Being filled with the Spirit as we saw last week is like “being filled with God.”Now having been filled, we become carriers of the Godly “fruit”, love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (Galatians 5:22) and other Godly traits. This being the case, we should not toil or see it strange to produce “the fruit of the Spirit.” It should be natural to love, walk in joy, peace, and the likes without a problem. Why is this possible? Because He gives us the ability to do it, and motivated by the hope we have in Him.
Why don’t born again Christians walk in this fruit of the Spirit? The answer to this question can be attributed to carnality.
Romans 8:7
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Many born again Christians do not pay attention to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. As such, the flesh over-rules or attempts to, every thing the Spirit directs. It is interesting that the above scripture does not read, “fruits” but fruit, singular. When you walk in love, there is nothing you cannot do. All the other listing of the fruit will be easy because, love prevails. You will be able to have joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, and all the rest of the fruit regardless of prevailing circumstances.
This is the fruit of God. Let us all remain filled with the Spirit so that God’s fruit can be seen in us. Remain blessed.
