SPIRIT – FILLED LIVING

SPIRIT FILLED.
Ephesians 5:18
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Dear Saints,
Today we want to continue with our subject “Spirit – Filled Living.” We will discuss on “being Led by The Holy Spirit.” I want to show you that you can be Led by The Spirit of God, and know it. So many Christians do not know that they can be led by the Spirit all the time.
You will hear them ask, “ how can l know that God is leading me?…….God does not talk to me.” No, God talks to everyone, and l will dare say, He talks to them whether they are born again or not. He has declared that He “so loved the World……,” This includes all man-kind. The only difference is that the person who is not born again will not recognize the voice of God as one who is regenerated.
One of the attributes of the Holy Spirit as we saw last week is that, He not only speaks what He hears the Father say, but He directs us in the ways we should go. He shows us things to come. This means, before anything happens, He will show it to us. This is amazing because nothing will catch you by surprise. Somehow, The Spirit will tell, or warn you ahead of time. But many times we ignore it. But He orders and directs your footsteps so you don’t stumble.
One way you can hear the Spirit leading is by inward witness. He will never lead apart from the word. So His leading is word based. Deep down in your heart you will hear His voice and you will hear Him giving you directions. The Prophet Isaiah tells how:
Isaiah 30:21
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
As you can tell from the above scripture, its prophetic. The Prophet was talking about the Holy Spirit of promise. He was seeing the coming of the Messiah and, the Messiah sending “another comforter” He is the one who teaches us, talks to us, and tells us everything our Father wants us to do. Whenever you don’t know what to do, He will show you. Calm down and listen.
You cannot hear Him properly if you are listening to so many other voices, mostly negative. Blocking these voices out helps to hear Him only. Remember we said He speaks only what He hears The Father say…..So, He will speak through the word, He will minister to you from there. He will encourage and strengthen you with the Word…..”what the Father says.” One thing you must purpose to do, is to be obedient to the word. Listen, He is talking to you.
