STEADFAST IN CHRIST

STEADFAST IN CHRIST

DEAR BRETHREN,

Greetings.

When Christ is in you and you are in Him, things are supposed to be different.  Your confidence knows no bounds.  You become a wonder to your generation.

Col 2:5-7  For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in Spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith IN CHRIST.   6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk IN HIM, 7 rooted and built up IN HIM and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.  NKJV

I rejoice to see your good order and steadfastness of faith in Christ.  Steadfast means firm and unwavering.  As far as your position in Christ, who He is in you, who you are in Him, you are unmoved and firm.  Praise the Lord.  Spiritual things are superior to natural things.  There is no distance in the spiritual realm.  Paul said that he could see the stability of the Colossians even though he was physically absent.

Some people try really hard to do what is right when someone is watching them.  If Paul could see what they were doing though physically absent, how much more the Lord; the Omniscient (everywhere present) God?  How much more the greater One who lives in you?  When you live with the consciousness of Christ in you and who you are in Him, your steadfastness is unshakable.

Jesus lived and ministered with the confidence of who He was and who the Father was in Him.  Look at some of His statements:

John 10:37-39 If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;  38 but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me , and I in Him.”  NKJV

John 14:10-11  Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me ? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.  11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.   NKJV

Jesus was saying, “I and my Father are one.  We are mingled as one.  I speak His words.  I do His works.  He lives in Me.  He’s settled in Me.”  He was unwavering in His steadfastness of who the Father was in Him, and who He was in the Father.  He had a Father in heaven…that He was going to return to later,  but He was aware of the Father that lived in Him by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus was our example of how to live as men (humans) on earth who well aware of the greater One who lives in us.  But pastor Eunice; that was Jesus and He is God.  Well, Jesus lived and ministered as a man, anointed by the Holy Spirit.  He had no unfair advantages over you.  You are a human being, anointed by the Holy Spirit as well.  You have passed the stage of God with us, Christianity is not God with us…this is the mystery…Christ in you…the hope of glory!

I’ll tell you more next week.  Have a Christ- in-you consciousness week.
