Dearest brethren,
1 Cor. 1:30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God — and righteousness and sanctification and redemption NKJV
Out of Jesus Christ, righteousness is made available to us. To recap some things we have studied before, Righteousness is the nature of God in you, producing in you the rightness of God: the ability to do right and fulfill the will of the Father. God is always right; it’s His nature to be right. This nature of righteousness is at work in us. So in our Kingdom, we do righteousness; we walk in righteousness, and do works or righteousness; manifesting the goodness of God to the world.
One of the ways to express righteousness is to simply be a peaceful person. The Bible shows us that the righteousness of God in us produces peace. Righteous people are peaceful people. Look at these Scriptures:
James 3:18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
Heb .12:11 …afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Isa 32:17 The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.
Isaiah prophesied that the work of righteousness would be peace. As the Bible says in
Ps 85:10-11 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. 11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. KJV
This can only happen in the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ who is both our righteousness and the Prince of Peace. First He gave us peace with God, (See Romans 5:1) by justifying us or declaring us righteous. There’s no more enmity between us and God. The word peace in Romans 5:1 means to ‘set at one again.’ God will never recall any of the bad things you’ve done. You’ve come home to Him and you’re now at peace and rest in Him through Christ Jesus.
The effect of righteousness is peace, quietness and assurance forever. When God establishes you in righteousness, you become fearless, unshakable and immovable. Why are you fearless? Because the effect of righteousness has secured you in Christ. You’re no longer oppressed by circumstances, situations or demon spirits. You’ve closed every entrance of evil in your life.
Isa 54:14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. KJV
You’re far from oppression because you do not fear. Fear opens the door to oppression. Rather, you’re in charge and in control. I remember going to a group of lions in the Masai Mara. They looked so peaceful. Everyone was quiet, kind of in awe of them. But no one mistook that peace for weakness. The ‘king of the jungle’ was boldly peaceful.
Brethren, to walk in the consciousness of God’s righteousness in you is to walk in dominion. The righteous are bold as a lion. Fearless, yet full of peace!
PRAY: Thank You Father that I have peace with you and that your righteousness has produced peace in me and for me. I rejoice in this divine harmony, bliss and joy that you gave me in Christ Jesus my Lord.
