THE NEW BEGINNING
Dear Saints,
I trust that you had a merry Christmas. Now we need to understand that the happiness or joy of Christmas is not predicated by what one ate, wore, where one went, or what they did. But by the knowledge of the newness of their life in Christ Jesus. Letting the “child” be born a new in meaning to ones’ life which makes a whole world of difference. This is the mystery we celebrate. Christ in you the hope of glory.
It’s not a coincidence that just a week after the established Jesus’ birthday comes a profound day of beginning. The first day of the year marks the newness of a period and a time. From this natural provision, one can choose to follow the new path thus provided, or remain in the old path.
For your information only. Like in most other days of celebrations which were named after some pagan gods, the month of January was named after “Janus”, a Roman god with two faces. One face looking back (past) the other one looking forward (future). The Roman god Janus represents all beginnings and possesses the ability to see all things past and future.
It is not the month or whom it is named after that we care about, but whom we believe and what He has done, and intends to do in our lives. That makes the difference. As we enter the new year, purpose a change, not necessarily behavioral, but a change of heart and attitude toward God.
Your year of 2018 will be entirely different from 2017. I want you to prosper in all you do, and ask you to do more that will make a difference to the Kingdom of God.
