USING YOUR POSITION OF AUTHORITY IN HIM
Dear Brethren,
Ephesians 2:4-7 tells us that God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. NKJV
The Bible was not written in Chapters and verses; they were added by the translators to help us locate the Scripture we’re looking for.
The above verses are a continuation of the truths in Ephesians 1:18-23 concerning the raising of Christ…far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. (Ephesians 1:21 NKJV)
The Wuest translation gives us an excellent translation of Eph. 1:21. It tells us that Jesus is “over and above every government and authority and power and lordship and every name that is constantly being named, not only in this age but also in the one about to come.”
There is so much that we can do when we apply the deep truth revealed in the verse above. Many Christians have been quiet about too many things, living as though they’re victims in life. If only they’d discover their position and ability in Christ, the glory and power they can wield in His name, things would be different.
We’re seated with Christ in the place of power, and in a position of authority. This is not a fairy tale. We have His dominion. He’s given you the legal right, as well as the ability to use His Name as an instrument. That Name is greater than every government or institution, name or title that could ever be conferred, both in this world and in the world to come. Jesus Christ is Lord over all, and He is the God of all flesh. (See Jeremiah 32:27)
With this knowledge, you can and should put a stop to the wars, epidemics, wickedness, perils and havocs the devil and his cohorts concoct around the world particularly in your world. Psalm 46:9 says, “He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth…” Putting a stop to these things is simple. Jesus said in “Matt 18:19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” NKJV Brethren, just two of you can get the job done. How much more when we meet in corporate prayer and put this to work in agreement together? (Lev. 26:8, Deut. 32:30)
We’re the ones in charge! Use the authority and the power of His Name in the prayer of agreement to make your life glorious. Use it to bring peace in your home, neighborhood, city and nation. Use it to install righteousness in the country and to establish the will of God in your world. Don’t keep this potent power untapped at home; bring yourself to church corporate prayer. Agree on something you want done or a situation you want changed. Decree in the name of Jesus the specific changes you want, on the basis of your position and authority in Christ and it shall be so.
Brethren, we have come to Christ for such a time as this. We maintain the stability and progress of our nation from the spiritual realm. The governing of this planet is placed on the shoulder of Jesus (Isaiah 9:6) and we are His body (1 Cor. 12:27)…He is the Head (Col. 1:18). Take your position of preeminence in Him. You have been raised together with Christ to dominate and triumph over circumstances, troubles, corrupting influences, violence and bloodshed today and always, in Jesus’ Name. Don’t let such things happen under your watch.
