Dearest brothers and sisters,
Look at: Proverbs 3:19
The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens. NKJV
It is interesting to me that it is by wisdom that the Lord founded the heavens and the earth, meaning that it is by wisdom that He started anything we see. Since that is the case, then it is by wisdom that you and I should start anything. Wisdom is foundational to the success of everything we do. If you will seek his wisdom before you start your business, it will attract riches. The book of Proverbs keeps showing us the relationship between wisdom and riches.
Prov. 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. 8 Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. NKJV
Wisdom will promote you. To promote is to contribute to the growth, enlargement or prosperity of any course, to further the progress of, to advance, and to exalt in rank or elevate. Prov. 3:16 shows us that when you go after wisdom, it doesn’t come to you by itself.
“Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor. “ NKJV
Wisdom comes with longevity, riches and honor. If riches were wrong or if long life is far fetched, then God would never have tied it up to wisdom. Look at these other Scriptures that show you that wisdom doesn’t travel alone:
Prov. 8:12, 14-21 KJV
12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
14 Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have understanding and power. 15 By me kings reign and rulers make laws that are just; 16 by me princes govern, and all nobles who rule on earth. 17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. 18 With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. 19 My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. 20 I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, 21 bestowing wealth on those who love me and making their treasuries full. NIV
Wisdom is for those who are destined for the top. All the things in that Scripture (above) will accompany your life when you embrace wisdom. Wisdom can fill your treasuries. Remember you are a king and a priest unto God. (Rev 1:6, Rev.5:10 ) You are endowed with the wisdom with which kings rule. You’re supposed to be ruling the earth by making decrees. (See Job.22:28)
Now that I’ve reminded you that you are a king, we’ll look at the relationship between wisdom and riches in the life of one of the wisest men in the Old Testament: king Solomon.
