KINDS OF WISDOM
Dear Church family,
Prov.4:5-7
Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. 6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding NKJV
To get something, you need to know what it is.
What is wisdom? We defined wisdom as skill in the mastery of the art of living according to God’s standards. It can also be defined as the ability to make right choices at the opportune time. For example: Doing first things first or seeking first the Kingdom of God.
Today we want to continue defining wisdom so we can continue to be partakers and to increase and grow in it. First of all, the Bible teaches us that there are different kinds of wisdom.
- The world’s wisdom
- Devilish wisdom
- The wisdom of God
THE WISDOM OF THIS WORLD
The Bible teaches us that the wisdom of this world is foolish, corrupted and cannot help one find God. So it’s something never to be part of. The worldly “under the table” wisdom so to speak is corrupt.
1 Cor.1:20-24
20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, . . . .23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. NKJV
Good wisdom must center around and have Christ as it’s Source.
1 Cor.2:6-7
However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory.
Brethren, there is a wisdom ordained for us that will untangle any difficult situation and answer every question. That wisdom was hidden for us and that is what the Spirit of God is telling us to get with all the effort we can put into getting it. We’re going to need it in the days ahead.
Till next bulletin, go after wisdom
