SUCCESS IS A JOURNEY

Ezekiel 37:1-3

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, and caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.

Ephesians 4

  1. From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Dear Saints,

Success in every area of our lives is a journey, not an event. In my efforts to try and find out What’s success is all about, and why some people succeed while others seem not to get anywhere, l see some common threads which I wish to address here. People who do not succeed seem work all by themselves. They are the means to the end. They have little, or no care for anyone else. In order to succeed in life, one must be joined to another who is going in the same direction. That’s why, two are better than one.

In the book of Ezekiel we see the famous story of the dry bones. These bones were all separated from each other, even the joints were not together.  Under this condition, they were all DRY, no supply was happening. They were unproductive, and could not even help themselves or each other. When the word came forth, all the body parts were joined together and formed people, and the people formed a mighty army. No one ever succeeds alone. Bob Colimore has men and women around him doing things that he cannot do. Tiger Woods needed people to carry his clubs, Kenyatta needs you to put him in power, David needed those men, though in distress, in debt, and discontented. Paul needed Timothy and Barnabas, Jesus needed the initial twelve and then, you and me. From the nucleus family to worldwide corporations, we need one another. Each one is needed to make the “WHOLE”. In essence, the success of an individual depends on the success of the “whole”. Everyone must belong un-divided to a family, a group, a church, a gangs. Or something. God never intended that you become a “Lone Ranger”, that’s why He formed the family, the church. Our own bodies are created with parts which are all important to each other. God’s idea in this regard is amazing.

Ephesians 4:15

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16. From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

From this scripture, every member of a church is a “joint”. The word says, every joint SUPPLIES. If a joint does not supply, then the whole body hurts because it is deficient In the area that lacks. Consequently, the whole church can suffer because of lack of supply. Watch out for more next week in your SPREADING THE LIGHT BULLETIN. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
